Central Dallas Ministries (CDM) is on a mission to defeat poverty in Dallas’ inner-city neighborhoods. CDM fights poverty with a multi-prong strategy and a variety of support services. It operates medical and legal clinics, a food pantry, children’s education programs, and workforce development programs. CDM serves more than 60,000 inner-city residents every year. In response to the drastic shortage of affordable housing in Dallas, CDM created its own community development corporation, Central Dallas CDC, and reached out to Partners for financing of the Ashby Street Project, a 21-unit low-income rental housing development. Working together, CDM and Partners made their goal a reality, and today, Ashby Commons provides affordable homes to low-income families.
